Attending a summer festival or stampede is a great way to get outside, escape day-to-day responsibilities and create lasting memories! ✨
If you’re of legal age, you might choose to savour the day with a few alcoholic beverages — just remember to stay safe, smart and responsible with these tips:
👉 Keep track of how many drinks you have — try to limit yourself to two or fewer.
👉 For every alcoholic drink, have one non-alcoholic drink — preferably water.
👉 Choose alcohol-free or low-alcohol beverages — there are lots of delicious options out there!
👉 Eat before and while you’re drinking.
👉 Plan a safe and sober way home.

2023 High School Scholarship Recipients

The Drumheller Associated Physicians would like to congratulate all of the 2023 High School Graduates for both the DVSS and St. Anthony’s.
The clinic sponsors two scholarships at each school: Biology 30 scholarship and the Marie ‘Amy’ Kuschke Memorial Art 30 scholarship.

#Retirement

The Drumheller Associated Physicians and staff would like to wish Myrna️❤️ the very best in her retirement.

Myrna started working at the clinic in February 2016 and has facilitated many clinic programs and has been an amazing advocate for patient care.

Myrna has been an amazing asset to the clinic and will be immensely missed by physicians, staff and patients.

#Expecting

When you’re expecting, it’s important to ensure you and baby are getting the right nutrients.
🤰🏼Here are a few nutrition tips to follow:
🍽 Balance healthy meals throughout the day: Three well-spaced meals each day are the gateway to healthy eating. They help stop you over-eating at your next meal, because you never let yourself get too hungry. If you suffer with nausea in pregnancy, you can also try eating six smaller meals spaced throughout the day.
🥗 Get more folic acid: to prevent brain and spinal cord birth problems. It is recommended to take a pregnancy-specific multivitamin containing 1 mg of folate before getting pregnant and throughout pregnancy. Other sources include fortified cereals, dark green and leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, beans, peas and lentils.
🥩 Up your iron intake: to prevent iron deficiency anemia. Boost your dietary intake with lean red meat, poultry, fish, fortified cereals and beans. Talk to your doctor to see if you would benefit from an iron supplement.
🥛 Eat more calcium-rich foods: to strengthen bones. Sources include dairy products, broccoli, kale, and fortified fruit juices and breakfast cereals.
