The Rocky Mountain House RCMP is warning residents about fraudulent text messages claiming health cards are no longer valid and asking recipients to complete an online application to receive a replacement.
These messages are scams designed to collect personal information. Government agencies will not send unsolicited texts asking you to provide personal, financial, or health information through a link.
Stay alert:
Don’t click on links in unexpected text messages
Don’t share personal or banking information
Verify information directly through official government websites or phone numbers
Delete suspicious messages and report concerns to your local police service
