Drumheller Associated Physicians would like to wish you and your family Merry Christmas!
The clinic will be closed on December 25th, 2023 & December 26th, 2023 for our staff to spend Christmas with their families
Regular clinic hours will resume Wednesday December 27th, 2023, 8:30am – 5:00pm
All emergencies will be seen at the Hospital – 351 – 9th Street N.W.

November is Fall Prevention Month

Falls are the most common cause of emergency department or hospital visits in Canada.
Use these tips to learn how to reduce your risk of falling:
🦺 Move your body, improve your health and remove hazards from your living environment
🦺 Check all prescription medications for possible side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, fluctuations in blood pressure, loss of coordination or balance
🦺 Ensure sufficient lighting to clearly see all stairs, landings and paths, especially at night
🦺 Make sure to wear well-fitting footwear at all times
🦺 Build your balance, strength and flexibility with regular physical activity
If you or someone you know is at risk for falling, talk to your doctor to learn more about reducing your risk.

WINGS

WINGS is a 10 session, once a week group in Drumheller, for adult survivors of abuse.
This program must have 12 group members registered to run in person.
If fewer than 12, the program will run online, and will be open up to survivors of abuse across East Central Alberta starting in February, 2024 (day and time to be determined.

November 13th is World Kindness Day

Start your week with acts of kindness and goodwill towards others. Even small acts of kindness make a big impact.
Participating in World Kindness Day is a simple yet impactful way to make a positive difference in the world.
Kindness is good for both our physical and mental health. Research shows being kind has many benefits, such as lower blood pressure, fewer aches and pains, less stress and more relaxed feelings.
Here are ways to get involved:
Perform Acts of Kindness, throughout the day, consciously perform acts of kindness, such as helping a neighbor or complimenting a colleague.
Spread Positivity: Share uplifting and positive messages on social media to inspire others to be kind and compassionate.
Volunteer: Offer your time to volunteer for a local charity or nonprofit organization that aligns with your values.
Teach Kindness: Educate children and young people about the importance of kindness and empathy through storytelling or classroom activities.
Random Acts of Kindness: Surprise someone with a random act of kindness, such as buying a stranger’s coffee or leaving an encouraging note for a friend.
Donate: Make a donation to a charitable cause that you believe in, whether it’s for humanitarian aid, education, or healthcare.
