November is Fall Prevention Month
Falls are the most common cause of emergency department or hospital visits in Canada.
Use these tips to learn how to reduce your risk of falling:

Move your body, improve your health and remove hazards from your living environment

Check all prescription medications for possible side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, fluctuations in blood pressure, loss of coordination or balance

Ensure sufficient lighting to clearly see all stairs, landings and paths, especially at night

Make sure to wear well-fitting footwear at all times

Build your balance, strength and flexibility with regular physical activity
If you or someone you know is at risk for falling, talk to your doctor to learn more about reducing your risk.
