Big Country Primary Care Network
Our clinic is part of the Big Country Primary Care Network. They provide professional staff as a part of our multidisciplinary team approach to enhance and deliver health care services. Presently we have a Registered Nurses, Wellness Coordinator, Psychologist and Referral Navigators working with us.
Registered Nurses
Our PCN registered nurses are responsible for patient education and follow-ups for chronic disease management. This includes but is not limited to conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, asthma, COPD. PCN nurses can also help with health promotion and prevention for all ages.
Wellness Coordinator
We have a wellness coordinator that offers classes and patient education on healthy lifestyles including weight loss, tobacco cessation and exercise options for patients with physical challenges.
Psychologist
Our PCN psychologist offers one on one sessions and cognitive assessments. They also offer hypnosis for smoking cessation, weight loss, chronic pain, fertility and general wellness.
Diabetes Foot Care
Our Licensed Practical Nurse has had additional education to care for feet.
They are able to do assessments, do conservative care for nails, corns and
calluses. They also will teach patients and family members how to care for the
feet as well as prevention of foot complications.
Referral Navigator
The referral navigator’s role is to facilitate patient referrals to specialists, specialty clinics, and other medical investigations. If you have concerns or questions about referrals to a specialist outside of our facility our PCN Navigators can answer your questions.
Patients must be rostered to a physician within the Drumheller Associated Physicians clinic to see the nurses, wellness coordinator, psychologist or footcare.
